19th century Chinese hand carved serpent courting chair with dragon face arms. Courting chairs were common in Victorian parlors in the mid to late 19th century. 18th C Chinese temple chest incorporating upper and lower compartments containing shelves and drawers. Upper cupboard doors are carved and gilded scenes. The lower doors are incised floral decorations of period vases. Warm reddish patina with bronze and brass hardware; supported by a carved stand with lion faces and paw feet.
