Antique English Chinese Chippendale drop front desk c1840 to 1860. This drop front Chippendale writing desk measures 39 inches wide, 22 inches deep, 32 inches to the writing surface and 43 and one half inches high. The inside writing surface is 22 inches when the 14 and one half inch lid is down. There are six small drawers along with one large drawer across the top. There is also a interior compartment with door that opens to reveal a small drawer, storage and a secret drawer. Made from fine rich mahogany. This desk comes apart in two pieces. A top with the drop lid and the bottom with two drawers on four legs ending in hand carved ball and claw feet. Condition. There are some minor old repairs to the case here and there and the drop lid has a slight warp, which is to expected from a piece from this time period.
