French Beau Brummel, or vanity stand, made circa 1820-30. Cherry or other fruitwood. All original. Measures 23 inches wide by 17 inches deep. It is 31 inches high when closed, and 43 inches high when the mirror is standing up. Tiny pegs on the bottom of the mirror frame fit into holes in the surface below so it does not slide when open. Period 18th century French Loire valley walnut double door armoire c 1760. This armoire is all original, it even has its original key. Measures 58 inches wide by 25 deep and 91 and one quarter inches high. The hardware on this piece is truly amazing. There is a hand wrought iron double lock system that holds both the top and bottom on both sides.Original key.Pair of sliding drawers with wide hand cut dovetails. The center panel depicts the Greek god Helios, who personified the sun, and is flanked by 2 figures in niches. Superb early Renaissance period cabinetry.
