French artist Jean Pierre Serrier born 1934 died 1989. "Jean Pierre Serrier" was a very important 20th century French painter that had several of his paintings published on the covers of fine art magazines, along with Newsweek and Time. One of his paintings was auctioned at Butterfields, San Francisco, Ca. USA , lot 6182, page 102 of the catalogue, October 29, 1998. Price realized USD $6000.00 . This painting of a woman in front of a window measures 7 and one half inches by 13 inches and is signed J. P. Serrier on the lower right. We have provided a picture of the artist we found at perso.wanadoo.fr/serrier/JPSERRIER/. 1955 graduate of the school of Fine Arts in Paris.He came to the US for the first time in 1961 where he exhibited at thte Kisling Galery on 57th street in New York City. A Marchand French oil on canvas c1900. This interior scene depicts a gentleman talking with two ladies. This painting is done in the 18th century style. The painting is framed in a wonderful of the period gold leaf frame. Andre Marchand was born in Paris on November 22 1877 and died April 18 1945. The Red Lady by Cecile Dreesmann. Measure 11 by 14 inches. Made With Silver Ore, Diamonds, Freshwater Pearl Blown Glass and Gold from the series "Dream Beings"Cecile Dreesmann was born and raised in Amsterdam Holland. Exhibited in Brussels,Hamburg,Cape Town,Singapore,Bangkok, Hong Kong, Honolulu, Tokyo, Rio de Janeiro, San Francisco, Palm Beach "The Potted Orange" Gallery, Hammond Museum NY, England, Canada, Mexico, Holland, Paris, and Germany. When she held a two week exhibition in pictureque Laren, just outside of Amsterdam 12,000 people came and it was a complete sell out. H. R. H. Prince Bernhard spent several hours at the exhibition, followed a few days later by his daughter the Crown Princess Beatrix, both collectors of Miss Dreemanns work. She authored countless books and articles on embroidery and related subjects. The precious and semi precious stones are all set in gold and cut to her specifications,drilled and or set so that the could be stitched on the background material,which was woven especially for her in Italy. She received Knighthood in the Order of Oranje Nassau,conferred upon her by H. M. Queen Juliana of the Netherlands. Shipping extra.
