Shahla Arbabi mixed media Unaccompanied Air. Shahla Arbabi was Professor of Art in the Department of Architecture and Fine Arts of the University of Teheran, Iran from 1790 to 1974 and a student at the American University, Washington , DC from 1974 to 1983. Her paintings have been purchased and exhibited by several large corporations, including SOHIO Oil Co MCI Telecommunications Corp and Locked Corporation. Other works are in private collections.She has been written about in the Washington Post Saturday December 21, 1991 and several other publications.She was also one of the five artists in of "The Phillips Connection" curated by Willem DE Looper at the Shippee Gallery in New York March 5 through April 11,1987.This mixed media piece measures 45 and one half inches by 37 and one half inches. Cecile Dreesmann Malachita needle Sculpture. This needle sculpture signed by Dreesmann titled "Malachita" measures 8 and one half inches by seven inches. Made from Malachite, and Gold.Cecile Dreesmann was born and raised in Amsterdam Holland. Exhibited in Brussels, Hamburg, Cape Town, Singapore,Bangkok, Hong Kong, Honolulu, Tokyo, Rio de Janeiro, San Francisco Palm Beach "The Potted Orange" Gallery, Hammond Museum NY ,England, Canada, Mexico, Holland, Paris, and Germany. When she held a two week exhibition in picturesque Laren, just outside of Amsterdam 12,000 people came and it was a complete sell out. H. R. H. Prince Bernhard spent several hours at the exhibition, followed a few days later by his daughter the Crown Princess Beatrix, both collectors of Miss Dreemanns work. She authored countless books and articles on embroidery and related subjects. The precious and semi precious stones are all set in gold and cut to her specifications,drilled and or set so that the could be stitched on the background material,which was woven especially for her in Italy. She received Knighthood in the Order of Oranje Nassau,conferred upon her by H. M. Queen Juliana of the Netherlands. Shipping extra.
