French artist Jean Pierre Serrier born 1934 died 1989. "Jean Pierre Serrier" was a very important 20th century French painter that had several of his paintings published on the covers of fine art magazines, along with Newsweek and Time. One of his paintings was auctioned at Butterfields, San Francisco, Ca. USA , lot 6182, page 102 of the catalogue, October 29, 1998. Price realized USD $6000.00 . This painting of a woman in front of a window measures 7 and one half inches by 13 inches and is signed J. P. Serrier on the lower right. We have provided a picture of the artist we found at perso.wanadoo.fr/serrier/JPSERRIER/. 1955 graduate of the school of Fine Arts in Paris.He came to the US for the first time in 1961 where he exhibited at thte Kisling Galery on 57th street in New York City. This painting depicting a Monkey about to grab two lobsters and some oysters siting on a table top. The painting framed measures 32 by 28 inches. Echo Four Masted Barkentine by Richetti c1932. This watercolour depicts the Echo, a four masted barkentine of 707 tons and 950 M capacity, built at North Bend, Ore., in 1896 by and for the Simpson Lumber Co. In 1916 she was taken over by A. F. Thane and C., San Franciso and was sold by them in February, 1923, to Robert Purdie, San Francisco. She arrived in San Francisco in February, 1924, with a part cargo of copra from Tonga, and was then laid up. A few years later she was sold to become a floating home at Sausalito; but her owner moved to the Galilee about 1935, and there is not much left of the Echo now. A Marchand French oil on canvas c1900. This interior scene depicts a gentleman talking with two ladies. This painting is done in the 18th century style. The painting is framed in a wonderful of the period gold leaf frame. Andre Marchand was born in Paris on November 22 1877 and died April 18 1945.
