This original Salterini lamp was made as a floor lamp that could hold flowers. The original shade is missing. We show a photograph of the lamp in an original Salterini catalog. When the lamp has a shade it measures 63 inches high and 13 inches in diam. We also show the original glass shade and finial. ,"Salterini" Neva rust wrought iron furniture is highly collected because of the extreme quality and care that was taken when it was made. Modern Art artist, painter Caribe Heitor Julio Paride Bernabo..Caribe is a pseudonym of Hector Bernabo. Born in Lanus, Argentina in 1911, died in 1998. See "New Brazil Art" by Pietro Maria Bardi, Praeger Publishers c1970, page 152: "In his work he reproduces the folklore of Bahia which is his permanent theme." He executed a fresco for the American Airlines terminal at Idlewild (now Kennedy) Airport in New York in 1959. This limited edition print of cavalheros herding cattle measures 12 inches by 15 and one half inches. The original frame measures 21 inches by 25 inches. George Giusti AGI, ADC, NDAD Born: Milan 10 October 1908. George Giusti of Italian and Swiss parentage, was trained at the Reale Accademia di Belle Arti in Milan. He worked as a designer in Lugano from 1928 to 1930 and in Zurich from 1931 to 1937, then went to the United States and for about a year was employed in government offices in Washington,D.C. Having moved to New York in 1939, he started a freelance practice and designed posters and various forms of publicity material for the US Department of Agriculture, the US Army Air Corps and joined the Famous Artists Schools, Westport, Conn.,in 1959, and now acts as editorial and advertising designer and consultant for industrial concerns and publications. His work was shown at the AGI exhibitions as well as in New York, San Francisco, Rochester, Boston, Chicago, Philadelphia, Los Angeles and under the auspices of the State Department, in South America, Europe and Japan. Between the years 1945 and 1959 he won ten gold and silver medals and thirty other awards, and in 1958 was elected Art Director of the Year and awarded the Golden T-Square. Set of three drypoint etchings of dancers by Elyse Lord. Each of the three matching frames measures 18 by 12 and one half inches. The prints measure 6 by 10 inches. Very good original condition. Two are 9/50 and one is 10/50. Signed bottom right.Elyse Ashe Lord, British, 1900-1971. One of England's greatest graphic artists specializing in the delicate art of drypoint etching, Elyse Ashe Lord was elected to the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours in 1922 and was also a member of the Society of Graver-Printers in Colour. She favored etching exotic and Far Eastern figure subjects, treating them in delicate and imaginative colors. Lord actively exhibited from 1915 through 1939 in London with the famed Lefevre Gallery, who with London dealer Alexander Reid published her work. Her art was also shown at the Royal Academy of Arts, the Royal institute, the Royal Scottish Academy, the Walker Art Gallery of Liverpool, the Fine Art Society and The Paris Salon, where she received the silver medal for color prints. In addition, her work was published in Masters of the Colour Print, Volume 1, 1927, with an introduction by Malcolm C. Salaman. In 1990 Cyril Gerber Fine Art of Glasgow held an important retrospective exhibition of her work. Lord lived in Bexley, Kent. ( ref: Robyn Butin: Salaman: Royal Academy Archive Shipping extra.
