| Antique pair of Sabbath candlesticks. Fraget was a Polish metal smith whose firm became a subsidiary of the famous German metal company WMF (Wurttembergische Metallwaren Fabrik) circa 1900. We found two nearly identical pairs of Fraget N Placque silver-plated Sabbath candlesticks that were sold by the Lower East Side Restoration Project's collection of antique Judaica. Poland was part of Russia when these were made. The LESRP's website noted that in many parts of Russia it was forbidden for Jews to own silver, so they instead plated their brass candlesticks with silver. They stand just over 14" in height. Minor wear, one tiny dent. Shipping extra. Connecticut residents and buyers picking up in Connecticut add 6% state sales tax. Buyers outside the USA are responsible for any taxes, tariffs or customs that might apply.*** If you wish to see examples of similar items we have sold and/or appraised please go to our affiliate site www.OneofaKindAntiques.com and click the Archives / Homepage logo *** | ||||||||||
