Born 1916, died 1992. The painting measures 54 inches by 59 inches.There has just been a book published about Jon Schueler and his work entitled "The Sound of Sleat" edited by Magda Salvesen and Diane Cusineau published by Picador New York. It mentions Schueler in Mallaig Vaig, Chester CT and his connection with Elise (whos home he stayed at while he painted this painting).
